Update:  Fine amount cut after meeting with OSHA

A Connecticut Town was fined more than $5,000 by the state's Occupational Safety and Health enforcement agency

The article indicates a team of inspectors from Conn-OSHA visited the town for a random inspection.

Failure to list types of chemicals used by employees

Lack of written Personal Protective Equipment policy

Lack of access to remote emergency power shut-off for fuel pumps

Safety guard not in place on forklift

Failure to identify capacity of steel lift chains

Lack of safeguards on grinder

Lack of training for employees for flagging operations

Improper storage of gasoline in portable containers

Lack of safety fencing / guardrails

Failure to have written bloodborne pathogens plan

Failure to determine presence of material with asbestos (floor tiles in town hall building)

Lack of illuminated exit sign
